Meet Josh

John G. Smith holds a Master Planners Certification and a comprehensive knowledge of
general management. Prior to joining Forino in February of 1996 as the President, John
served as the General Manager of the Golden Oaks Golf Club. There, he was responsible for all
operations, staffing and business development and was an integral part of the design and
construction of the clubhouse and golf course. As the VP of Forino, John utilized his 25 years of
general management experience to oversee the daily operations of the firm, which included supply
chain management, advising business unit goals, and implementing plans to attain
organizational goals. In addition to these responsibilities, John developed numerous business
relationships with key industry suppliers to provide top-quality products and services to our
firm’s customers, thus solidifying our goals of “Building Confidence. Delivering Value.” While
working with our Reading office, John also served our local community and industry through
various positions, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Home Builders Association
of Berks County and the Berks Conservation District. In 2018, John was promoted to President
of Forino Co., L.P., and transferred to South Carolina to head our operations and expansion in
the Hilton Head and Bluffton markets. In his time in the Lowcountry, he has become the
premier commercial construction and residential builder in Jasper and Beaufort counties, with
developments in engineering in Georgia as well. With current investments and acquisitions
totaling $121 million, Forino South Carolina has expanded to include all manners of commercial
and multi-family development, along with boat storage facilities and multiple residential
developments.
