The City of Hardeeville, in partnership with the Hardeeville Community Transformation Foundation (HCTF), is thrilled to announce the recipients of the inaugural Hardeeville Community Transformation Foundation Education and Workforce grant awards. This innovative and competitive annual grant program aims to enhance educational and workforce development opportunities across Hardeeville and its surrounding regions.
The program, open to public, private, and charter schools serving Hardeeville, as well as
regional colleges and universities located in Jasper and Beaufort County, regional nonprofits,
and workforce training centers, aims to support initiatives that foster academic excellence and
workforce readiness. Mayor Harry Williams remarked, “These grants represent our unwavering commitment to the growth and prosperity of Hardeeville. By supporting our local schools and workforce
organizations, we are building a brighter future for our residents. I’m eager to see how these
funds will equip our community with the tools and opportunities needed to succeed.”

For the 2024 grant cycle, a total of seven grants have been awarded, demonstrating a significant
investment in the future of Hardeeville’s educational and workforce landscape:
- Technical College of the Lowcountry – Awarded $150,000 toward the construction of the Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center at Technical College of the Lowcountry.
- Beaufort-Jasper Academy for Career Excellence – Granted $19,718 to transform two unutilized former science classrooms into a state-of-the-art barbering facility.
- Royal Live Oaks Academy – Received $17,735 for improvements to the athletic field/physical education space, including the addition of a sprinkler system.
- Thomas Heyward Academy – Awarded $8,303 to upgrade the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) of the enlarged physical education classroom.
- Bluffton Self Help – Secured $9,213 to purchase needed supplies and items for the Learning & Literacy Program offered in Hardeeville.
- Community Foundation of the Lowcountry: South Carolina Nurse Renton – Received $9,072 to recruit and retain licensed nurses to the City of Hardeeville and the region for a two year period.
- A Father’s Place – Granted $8,066 to help support AFP’s economic stability, employment, and job readiness activities and address the barriers participants face in gaining and retaining employment as well as advancing in their workplace.
